The rulebook

Every rule protects the game for the hooper who's spent his life on a rim that wasn't built for him.

6'0" max

A hard ceiling with no exceptions. Heights are measured in person before rosters lock.

9-foot rims

Regulation rims, lowered one foot. Finish at the rim like you never could on ten.

The 5'10" rule

A 12-man roster can carry at most three players at 5'10" to 6'0", so no team stacks the top of the range.

    Questions

    Why 9-foot rims?

Height decides too much on a 10-foot rim. Drop it a foot and a 5'10" player has the same distance to the rim as a 6'10" NBA forward: easier finishes, real dunk chances, and blocks you'd never get otherwise.

    Who can play?

Men 18 and older who are 6'0" or under, from Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and around Central New Mexico.

    What if I'm over 6'0"?

You can't play in this league. A Classic League on 10-foot rims for all heights is on the way, so join the list to hear when it opens.

    How are heights checked?

In person at registration, before rosters lock.

Why only three players 5'10" and up per team?

So no roster can stack the top of the height range. It keeps games fair for shorter hoopers.

    How are free agents placed?

You're placed on one of the 5 free agent teams, balanced by position and skill. The league provides the team name and jerseys, and honors your jersey number request when it's available.

How does a full squad register?

Your captain signs the squad up, reserves a slot and manages the roster of up to 12 players. Everyone on it must be 6'0" or under.

    When do I pay?

At in-person registration. Joining the interest list is free.

    When does the season start?

Dates go to the interest list first, by text and email.
